A HISTORY OF THE INTERROGATION ROOM

interrogation room

This is the only room in the Hotel that could be said not to have a history. That is to say, the few documents of its origins and uses are so scattered and contradictory as to appear self-negating.

One record states, for example, that on January 16th, 1907, a dissident mathematician was incarcerated and subjected to invasive surgery against his will; another claims that the Interrogation Room was not even built until 1912.

Officially, the Hotel St. George denies its affiliation with any third party institution and any methods of information retrieval allegedly employed in times of heightened national security, though there have been several internal investigations that suggest otherwise. The only sufficient and unambiguous history we can provide is that which visitors see currently presented.

Today we may be scanning a new work of literature for hidden codes and subversive content, tomorrow we might question an author, a publisher, a composer, or any man or woman whose activities and intentions rouse curiosity. Rest assured that these interrogations will be lawful and that reports will henceforth be made available to the public. As to what occurred in the past, however, we leave this to your imagination.
